Registered address and owner
The workshop and the registered place of business are the same address. The business is owned and operated by Rewi Kalman, who is the contact person for all legal correspondence. Formal notices should be sent in writing to the workshop address and will be treated as received three working days after posting within New Zealand.
Intellectual property
The text, photography, blade profiles, pattern designs and page layouts on this website belong to BladeFoundry unless we credit someone else. Custom pattern and handle designs created for a customer remain our intellectual property; the customer receives the physical knife, not the right to reproduce the design commercially. You may share our photographs with credit, but you may not use them in advertising or resell our content.
Privacy and data protection
We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Our full Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and how you can access or correct it. For visitors from the European Economic Area, we apply the same standards to personal data and recognise the rights set out in the EU General Data Protection Regulation, including access, correction, erasure and objection. Requests go to bladefoundry@gmail.com and are answered within twenty working days.
Consumer law and complaints
Nothing in our terms, refund or warranty wording reduces the protections you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If you believe we have breached either Act, contact us first so we can try to fix it. If we cannot resolve the issue, you can take it to the Disputes Tribunal or the Commerce Commission, and for disputes involving larger sums, to the courts of New Zealand.
Website accuracy
We keep pricing, lead times and specifications as accurate as we can, but steel supply and workshop load change. Where a detail on this site conflicts with a written quote we have sent you, the quote takes priority. We may update any part of this page, and the governing terms are the ones in force on the date your order was confirmed.
