What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site remember something about your visit, such as a choice you made or whether you are signed in. Cookies are not programs and they cannot read other files on your device. BladeFoundry uses a very small number of them, and we explain each one below.
Cookies we set
- cookie_choice stores whether you accepted or declined the cookie notice, so we do not ask again on every visit. It lasts twelve months.
- session_id keeps your form session together while you fill in a quote request. It is deleted when you close the browser.
Cookies set by others
Some pages load content from other providers. The map on our contact page comes from Google, and our fonts and layout files come from a content delivery network. Those providers may set their own cookies when their content loads. We do not control those cookies and we cannot read them. Their own privacy and cookie notices explain what they do with the data.
Analytics
We look at aggregated traffic figures, such as how many people visited a page and which country they came from, so we know which knives people are interested in. Our analytics setup is configured not to collect your name, email address or precise location, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Managing cookies
You can decline non-essential cookies using the notice on our home page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and every major browser has a help page explaining how. If you block all cookies the site will still work, but the cookie notice may appear again on your next visit. To clear a stored choice, delete the site's cookies in your browser and reload the page.
Changes and contact
If we add or remove a cookie we will update this page and change the effective date. Questions about cookies go to bladefoundry@gmail.com, or write to us at 181 Kahikatea Drive, Melville, Hamilton 3206, New Zealand.
